During the week of April 22nd through 25th Mercyhurst Student Government conducted spring all-student survey. Survey questions were seeking for student feedback on issues that MSG has been working on or wanted to start tackling. Those projects included, but were not limited to:

  • Improving recycling on campus
  • Organic food options in both cafeterias
  • Presence of political parties on campus
  • Student Union usage and
  • Student Activities Council event improvements.

Total amount of the students surveyed was almost 500! Different PR initiatives were implemented in order to have better student response. First 50 students who provided their feedback at the table in front of the Student Union entered raffle for a grand prize - 4 Lifehouse SpringFest tickets. The lucky winner was freshmen Chris Gussey!

Next 150 students who participated in the survey received MSG flashlight. Also, Rita’s ice-cream, along with popcorn, was made available to Mercyhurst students to enjoy.

Mercyhurst Student Government Senate and the Executive Board would like to express their sincere gratitude to all students who participated in the last survey of the year because YOUR INPUT IS THE ONLY THING THAT GUIDES MSG IN RIGHT DIRECTION!

On Sunday April 27th at 1:00pm in MSG Chambers, Mercyhurst Student Government Vice President, Dinorah Sanchez, held last Presidents Club meeting with Recognized Student Clubs and Organizations Officers. MSG VP updated RSCO Officers on things MSG has been working on since last President’s Club meeting. Those updates included proposals such as

  • more Bike Racks on campus,
  • Blue Light System,
  • Locker Room proposal and,
  • Louie the Laker mascot’s institutional employment.

Feedback received from the attending Officers was very positive with few new ideas such as Sports Medicine area expansion. Ms. Sanchez presented new MSG Executive Board and MSG Senate members, and talked about Cultural Awareness week. She also introduced new RSCOs for the 2007/2008 school year and reminded Officers to attend RSCO Recognition Reception and submit their Year End Reapplication.
